Here is the Press Release for our Farewell to the Queen of the Skies event:

Dear VirtualUA Pilots,

As I’m sure you’re all well aware United Airlines is retiring all of their Boeing 747-400’s. The last revenue flight is scheduled for November 7th where United is going to do a retro theme with their flight attendants and pilots dressed in old uniforms. The flight will operate San Francisco, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. They will be mimicking the service that was offered in 1970 when United began operating their 747’s.

Being a virtual airline that accurately represents United operations we felt that it would be imperative to create an event for the last flight for the 747. We would formally like to extend an invite to have you attend our farewell flight for the ‘Queen of the Skies’. We are planning on doing our event on November 4thstarting at 5:00 PM CST(central time). The flight will last around 5 hours. The flight is CAT Free. We would prefer 747s, but you can fly any aircraft.

We ask that if you are participating in the event that you be logged into Discord or Teamspeak an hour before. Like real life operations, we expect to begin boarding 30 minutes prior to departure. We would like to have our aircraft blocked out (door closed, ready for push-back) 10 minutes prior to departure (4:50 PM CST). We will be coordinating with VATSIM to get staffing for San Francisco, and Honolulu for our arrival.

Like always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to send me an email.

I hope you have a great week.
